Thought I read somewhere that all of the DHS decisions get announced on the same day; if you get the award, you get a package, if you donāt, you get an email. Is that right or did I completely make that up?

Yes, all the DHS packages go out the same day (last Friday in this case) and are scheduled to be delivered the same day, which is today obviously. Not to create false hope, but certainly in the past there has been the occasional late delivery, by which I mean a day or two late due to a screw-up, and the also occasional misdirect, where the package went to the wrong address, usually because of a UPS mistake. But odds are if you donāt have a package by the end of today, the DHS is not in the cards.
To be perfectly honest, email notifications to the people that did not win has been sporadic in the past. It is one of the things I would really like to see Tulane improve on. I would say if you donāt have a package or an email by the end of the week, then next Monday send an email to the admissions officer assigned to your area and ask for confirmation, if that is what you still want at that point. Hopefully Tulane will get all the notes out quickly this year and save people that awkwardness.
Congrats everyone! UPS truck came and went with no package for me. Oh, well. Iām fortunate enough that Tulane is still possible for me with the Presidential, and Iām still waiting to hear from the PT. So am I correct in assuming all the packages everyoneās received have been DHS, not PT? Or have those started to go out as well?

It seems pretty clear at this point that these are DHS only. No info on when the PTA will go out, but it wouldnāt surprise me if it was this Friday. But that is purely a guess on my part.
And you bring up a very good point. For those that did not win and donāt win a PTA either, but have the Presidential or other very high award, those are obviously still pretty generous. Admittedly, full tuition is what it is and that is amazing, but I do love the positive attitude of being happy for something as generous and great as the Presidential.
Just curious - did everyone who has received a DHS so far also do the Stamps interview?
I cannot answer that question for you @VAmomof4, but I can tell you that the invitations to the 10 Stamps finalists have been sent out via email. The other thing I can add is that if everything we heard about those initial interviews was true, then more people were interviewed than could possibly win the DHS and PTA combined.
DD had a Stamps interview (and just got DHS).
We did not get DHS and did the Stamps interview. Still have some hope for Hainkel.
Actually PTA notifications were sent too, I just got my award in the mail!
Oh thatās interesting. Guess we will still have to wait and see if they all went out or not. Two years ago they did not all go out at the same time. Not sure about last year, but I think they were all sent out at once then. We need more evidence about the PTA. I think that is very odd that so many were DHS so far if they sent out a lot of PTA Friday as well.
I guess the other possibility is they sent them yesterday and that person got one day delivery instead of 2 by luck or whatever. Hard to say.
@fallenchemistā Do you know when they send out Hainkel notifications or have you heard of any recipients with this round of scholarships?
Just got home from work and found out that I got the DHS! I was NOT interviewed for Stamps at all, and frankly I was quite worried until today that this was a sign that I was out of the running for the DHS - clearly this was not the case. Very excited, as I can now afford to go to Tulane, my top choice school!
Quick breakdown of my stats -
ACT: 34 (superscore 35)
SAT: 2080
UW GPA: 3.65

No sorry, havenāt heard anything and donāt know when they tell people. My D roomed with a Hainkel winner from Shreveport freshman year, and that is the only Hainkel winner I have come across anywhere, as far as I know.
Thatās interesting, @Fergus3. I would have guessed that all the DHS winners would have been interviewed. Just goes to show you.
BTW, I would just not even bother giving your SAT score when you list your stats. The ACT is so much better that they, and all other schools, would have just ignored the SAT.

DD says her Tulane students Facebook page is humming about people receiving DHS. No one else has seen Paul Tulane Award yet. No UPS today. Weāll hold out hope for tomorrow (?). She feels her PTA submission was stronger. If not, weāll appreciate her admissions scholarship and look forward to our trip in April for Destination Tulane.
