Decisions are out!
Rejected (intl with low EFC)
Really liked Dickinson, so we’re disappointed, but it was very expected
@anon3553244, sorry for the disappointing news -you were in a tough position as an intl student with low EFC, but hopefully you’ll have other fantastic options.
S21 accepted with better financial numbers than I’d expected. He likes Dickinson quite a bit and wants to visit.
Good luck to all.
congrats and good luck to all!
Son accepted w/ $46k per year in scholarship money making it more competitive than I thought it would be.
Accepted with Presidential Scholarship!
Accepted with Provost Scholarship!!! So so happy and congrats to everyone!
Accepted today with 1783 scholarship and lower EFC than anticipated, good news! Congrats to all!
Accepted with Benjamin Rush Scholarship! Congratulations and luck to everybody.
Awww… Sorry. Good luck with your other application decisions.
She’s in! Provost Scholarship, Dickinson Grant, Massachusetts Grant, and need based grants/work study, etc. make it viable! She’s very happy about this one.
I thought it was very cool that they quoted a bit of her essay in the letter, too.
Congrats! I thought the quote was a nice touch too.
Congrats to everybody! Accepted as well with the Presidential Scholarship
Youngest son accepted with aid more generous than expected (pleasantly surprised). Sister is 2nd year at Gettysburg. He was also accepted there but package not as generous. Appealed and will hear back by early April. We were able to drive around campus but he was unable to have other than virtual tour to date. His sister really likes Gettysburg and we know both are great schools. She actually said he should go to Dickinson if the financial aid package is that great there. Will try to schedule that for final decision. As a parent we want him to be happy and do well. He also was accepted at all the saftey schools (Gettysburg and Dickinson were his two target schools. He did not apply to any reach schools.)
Exciting times.
My DD was accepted and it is considering it, for those that know a lot about the school, students, culture, things to do, vibe, etc. please share. We are touring next week. My daughter is smart, kind, not a partier, but looking to get involved and have things to do, but not interested in greek life.
Lassy4. Curious to see if you did the tour and would be willing to share your thoughts?
Sure, it was a chilly but beautiful sunny day, which helps because we drove through campus back in the fall and it was a dreary day and not a soul in sight so this visit was much better. The campus was much prettier than I remembered and the town was much cuter as well. We went to lunch at the Hamilton Family Restaurant (diner) and the people were all very friendly. Then we walked to Dickinson and they had several tents up with heaters and the staff were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to talk to us. The students on the student panel seemed very happy and seemed to love the school (which I’m sure they do if they are on the panel). The campus is bigger than some other small LACs, I wish we could have seen inside buildings though and a dorm but that was not the case. The buildings are mostly all stone, very pretty. The town with restaurants and shops is right there and walkable from campus. The staff who spoke, especially the enrollment guy, who is an alum, were very enthusiastic as well. After we finished we stopped at an ice cream place by the athletic fields and then my GPS led me another way to I84 which led us through a very nice suburban area right near campus, so while the town itself is older and historic, it seemed like a nice suburban area around it. Overall, it was very nice and it is in contention, for us I just wish it was a little closer - it is an almost 3 hour drive from home, which is not terrible, but I have triplets so I will be driving around quite a bit!
Would you mind sharing stats?
Not sure if anyone is reading this anymore, but I have a Junior daughter really interested in Dickinson. For those that were accepted with scholarships, would you mind sharing your stats? Thank you!!
