Dickinson vs. Allegheny

I was accepted to both schools with very similar financial aid packages. If it came down to these two, which should I pick?

I’m planning on majoring in international studies/political science with a potential minor in communications/journalism. Study abroad programs are important and putting a lot of emphasis on the world and producing global citizens.

Allegheny also invited me to their Honors Program but I don’t know much about it.

We loved Dickinson, and it is very strong for IR/PS. I don’t know much about Allegheny. But sounds like two great choices.

Which place, to YOU, feels like the most desirable one to live and learn for four years?

Good luck!

Dickinson is really strong in IR. Have you visited both? You should try to go for accepted student visits at both – 24 hours on campus is very revealing, and should help you make up your mind.

I have narrowed my offers down to Allegheny and Juniata. I plan on attending each school’s admitted student days to take a closer look at how they support their students. I do really like the idea of the senior comp project at Allegheny, though. Good luck!

Dickinson is really the strongest of the two for IR, political science, and study abroad. If both are in a similar price bracket, congrats

OP,

There was a recent thread where someone was debating between Allegheny and West Chester. You might find that thread, as a lot of posted positive feedback on Allegheny. I’m not as familiar with Dickinson.
