I'm reading a lot of posts about peoples scores dropping. Was October a harder test than normal?

I took it in June and got a 31, then I took it in October and got a 29. What is weird is I was much more confidant leaving the test in October than I was in June...

When I thought I did better, I actually did worse...

from what is posted here at cc, most people significantly increased in October.
science had a generous curve - some people that left 3-4 blank still scored in the low 30s
if you went down in October, that seems to be out of the ordinary
just my opinion.

I scored 2 point lower on the October 2009 test date. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I was looking at my score report, I had scored lower on everything!

I took June and October and my score didn’t change. I think October was a particularly difficult test, especially for the reading. I don’t remember seeing anyone who has gotten a 36 on the reading.

I got a 36 on reading which was kind of suprising. For the English/Reading I didn’t think the October test was any easier/harder than previous tests.

I’m a junior and this was the first time I took the ACT. I took the PLAN and it projected me at 26-30. The mininum I wanted as a 28, as that’s what I need to apply for engineering at Kansas State. A 29 makes me elligible for a scholarship in that department, so I’m pretty happy about that.

Here’s my October scores:

Composite - 29

English - 28
Math - 26
Reading - 34 - like the poster above me, kinda surprised at the high reading score
Science - 27

A bunch of my friends (juniors). That are on the same class/GPA level as me did kinda bad. We’re talking solid 4.0 students getting a 20, 22, and 23.

For those of you who took it before, did you think this test was more difficult than other ones?
