Did alright freshman year, but can i get into a really good school if i improve?

freshman year of high school is almost over, and i was in all advanced (level one) classes, took an art class, got honor roll every term- but my grades ranged form a to b-. the grades are decent, but i'm really worried about extracurricular stuff. i only did one club, and i didnt do any sports but that's because i can't because i do dance and it is way too time-consuming and hardcore to have time for in school sports. i also play piano, and am part of a youth group- if any of that matters. next year im in all level ones, one ap class-the only one offered, and i still won't be able to do sports. and im taking an elective again. That's all i can tell you- but if in the next 3 years i get better grades, do highest level classes, and join more clubs is it too late to get into a really good school? (really good is relative, use your own judgement- i'd say harvard's out of the ballpark, right?)
and one other thing, i'm taking spanish all four years and i plan on doing french for 2 as well. just in general... how good of a chance do i have for good schools?

You should not join tons of clubs just to put it on your college application. Yes, try to get straight A’s, but continue doing things that you are good at and/or passionate about. Don’t just play a bunch of school sports if you don’t care about them or aren’t even good at them. Harvard is not out of the ballpark if the EC’s you have stuck with for a long time are good. So, if dance and piano are what you are good at and long-term ECs, focus on those. One club is fine if you have committed and strong Ec’s.

i just get confused about ECs, does it make a difference whether or not it is school-related?
