Did any international students got accepted?

Hi guys,

First of all, congrats for all of u who got accepted!!!

I got deferred and was wondering as an intl' student if there are any intl' students who got accepted.

I'm from Israel and I know they accept about 2-3 students each year and I'm pretty sure that Harvard wants to compare me with ALL the other Israelis who will apply this year. Makes sense, right?

Thanks!

as far as I know, No applicants from China Mainland were admitted… I wonder why… 6 students were admitted to Yale, but 0 for Harvard?.. Terrible. I got deferred.

I’m from Mainland China and I 'm also deferred; if really nobody were accepted, we may still have chance in RD

I guess that’s kinda good…

Any other intl students on CC???!? esp. in the Middle east??

Nope. I’m from New Zealand and got deferred. Harvard’s article never mentions the international bracket.

might be interesting for us:

I’m from Lithuania and got deferred as well. How were your SAT scores guys - competitive with US students or much lower?

I wish I had got a definite answer and expected to get in. Now there’re so many essays to write and I just don’t feel the motivation…

I had a 2310. I’m Pakistani and I got deferred too. A friend of mine had a 2280, he’s Canadian and he got deferred as well.

Oh goodness, can we please not go back to that crazy person with the “important message”? Consensus was that she was trolling.

Harvard admitted 772 students, but how much of them are internationals I wonder…

Just wondering - did you have to take any sort of test to apply, being from China, ashkenazy?

yes, absolutely. TOEFL and SATs are very important for Chinese Applicants. I got an 2400 superscore on the SAT, but still deferred… so depressed…

I got much lower SAT I - 2050
but got 800,800,800,790 on SAT II…

No intl’ students on CC got accepted (???@?)…

It really makes sense that since our spots are very limited, Harvard wants to compare us with ALL OUR regular decision pool (all the applicants from our country).

smileyking from Thailand got accepted…

Myself and someone else I know from Canada were both deferred… Anyone from Canada accepted?

@ JoyfulPoet, I’m a Canadian living overseas and I was also deferred! It looks like they really may be comparing us to the other people who are applying from our respective countries/citizenships.

canadian and accepted! :)

I got accepted!!! And I’m from Thailand. Still can’t believe it! This is so surreal. :D

To all of you who got deferred: Best of luck! As a fellow int’l student, you guys have my full support. Hope to see some of you guys next year!

I ditto that! Best of luck to everyone!! :)

One of my friends from home was also accepted. Oh Canada!
