anyone? .......

No, I’m afraid UPenn has an anti Korean policy in order to prevent the smell of kim’chi from pervading throughout the school. Nobody got in.

^^They’re just trying to play it safe.

LOL! the smell of kim chi? doesnt smell bad.
I’m korean and i got in. From Los Angeles. =D Although i do think it is a little harsh against koreans. My korean friend last year applied to wharton and he was very qualified and he didnt get in. He goes to amherst now and hes happy though.

my korean friend got in. She got a 2350 on her SAT and like 800’s on her SAT II’s. She also had like a 4.5/4.0 GPA so yeah…

I’m not from the States so I’m just curious…Is there a bias against Koreans/Asians/Internationals in general?

no, there isnt a bias against koreans/internationals

from what ive seen being an international helps in admissions

Thanks, I got a little nervous since I’ve seen comments on the forum saying that it’s harder to get in as an international:) I’m from the British system where it’s (arguably) a big advantage to be an intl student so I was a little confused!

I’m Korean, and so is my sister. She’s class of '11 and I’m going to be in the '14 class. Saying that there is an inherent bias for one culture just because you are that culture and did not get in is just blaming your race for your flaws. Not that I care or anything, I do it all the time =P
