Did any of you send a research abstract to Penn?

For those of you who sent a research abstract to Penn and used the online app, what did you check for the question:

“I plan to submit supplementary materials:”

I checked yes, but I’m not sure if this is only for artistic/creative supplements since the paragraph right above it says:

“If you have artistic or creative abilities that you would like us to be aware of, you may supplement your application with additional written, visual, or audio materials. We ask that you include your U.S. or Canadian Social Security Number on all enclosures and limit written or visual material to one or two sheets no larger than 8½ x 11”. We regret that we cannot retain or return these materials."

Any input as to what I should check? I already sent the abstract to Penn by snail mail.

i wouldn't worry about it; if they take creative stuff, they'll take research statements too, as long as it was clearly labelled.

i sent research abstracts too; i have no idea, but if you check supplemental materials i will too :)

I'm going to send one along with a resume, because they say something about alowing "additional writing materials."

not sure if I"m stupid but what are research abstracts? lol thank for filling me in guys :)

youre a little stupid, but i forgive. :)
like a summary of, basically, research you've done. i did cancer research at colo-u and did a whole write up and project on it and won prizes, so i wanted to tell the colleges what i'd done. so instead of the 20-page paper, you submit a 250-word summary. that's an abstract.
