SSP is the secondary student program of Harvard Summer School, basically you go and take classes at Harvard for credit during the summer

I have a question: Do you think the 8 week session is better than the 4 week? I mean...the 8 week clearly offers more courses. But it costs nearly $10k if you add up all the expenses! Bahhh. Maybe it is worth it?

Eight weeks at Harvard go by VERY fast. Socially, it was hard for people to leave their friends behind after 4 weeks knowing they still had many amazing memories ahead and it was difficult for second session people to delve into a well-established community. Also, many of the student activities are designed for 8-weekers (orchestra, chorus, ballroom, ect.). And as you've noticed, the class selection is much, MUCH better for the full session. Apply for financial aid and see what happens. They're pretty generous. Good luck! SSP is amazing.

thanks! I think I'll take your advice and go for the eight week. Plus, my mother dearest (complete sarcasm) insisted that I take the longer session. Le sigh.
