DId anybody have this happen? (Test setting!)

SO... My environmental science test was today. Nevertheless, its not a huge class, so they placed us in middle of nowhere (or the troubled kids room) the school still, however, didn't tell us where we were suppose to be for the test. Chem and Enviro were both today so i was lost... (chem was taking the test where all the other AP tests were taking place at our school) so I got to the class 5 min before the test... that wasn't HALF so bad as what came next...

People didn't know we were taking the test in that classroom and walked/knocked every 5 minutes. (oh yeah, phone calls too) I'M NOT EFFIN JOKING. Our Assitant principle walked in two times during the test and picked up books and what not... I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CANT READ SIGNS ON THE DOOR... First i thought it might be because it was the troubled kids class, but even the teacher who taught that class did that. We were getting rather frustrated... WHEN THINGS OFCOURSE GOT WORSE:

We had a baseball players send off. Yes, that involved huge drum noises from our band and police sirens. (we were practically laughing by then) And you know what???????? It rained today so it got cancelled. We just endured that FOR EFFIN' NOTHING. I seriously had hard time concentrating. Too bad they don't care about enviro students.. (<- i mean easy class and all but have some respect~!!)

Not only that.. but:

i didn't have any clock that i could look at and all i could count on was "30 minutes left" my test overseer would say every now and then... I wasn't paying attention so I had to write two in 15 min.. that was also because i took time with the first and the third one. I think those are good, but the two that i screwed up with (2nd and 4th one) are kinda bad... especially 2nd one. o_O Its not even that hard! GRR I wish i had more time (most people were done way before me though.. i was the only one who was working so slowly)

ANYbody else had a crappy test setting?

I was the only one taking AP Psychology in my school, and I was stuck in a "conference room" that is in the cafeteria. Naturally, I had to listen to a full-blown ROTC role-call/meeting/whatever it is they do in the cafeteria during activity periods. They were pretty loud. It sucked.

Yeah. I have that time problem where the proctor just begins the test and doesn't even mention "x minutes left" or any forewarning. He/she would just STOP us at the end of the exam. If you forgot what time the section began, you had to ask the proctor yourself. It sucked.

^ for other tests they don't tell us. (although they do advise you to move on) but they did have a big overhead of a clock that was countin down so you can see how much time was left...

mine isnt nearly as bad as the op's.

but some tool pulled a fire alarm and it went off during my ap lit test.
screeching fire alarm for 5 minutes while trying to read some convoluted passage and actually having to write an essay on it?
oh it was hell.

Doesn't a fire drill result in the cancellation of the ap test from that day?

nope cuz we didnt leave the testingarea. we just stayed there in the room and continued taking the test.

and the fire alarm was pulled by a student as a "joke" , thus we didnt have to evacuate.

I took three of my AP tests in an auditorium with little pull out desks that were smaller than a piece of paper. My other one was taken in a language lab, but the proctor didn't have a clue on how to work the equipment.

^ That reminds me of my friend who took an AP exam in the middle of the soccer field (no kidding) because they couldn't find a spare room to house all of the students.

The breeze must have helped with thinking, methinks. =p

^ OH THAT SUCKS... In a soccer field? I hope it wasn't wet (that's worse than the time i had to take tests in the auditorium with a big block of wood for table on my legs)

We had a tornado "DRILL" administrated by the school officials themselves. I didn't understand the purpose of this.. but AP test takers didn't have to move around so i heard it was ok...

really? is that true? the fire alarm went off at our school... it was a smoke alarm. and then we had to leave the test room and not talk about the test. i hope the test wont be cancelled.

we kept switching rooms for art history because one of the kids gets extended time but we only had 2 projectors and you need 2 to do the test (left and right slides).

so we did like the first section of MC downstairs, then went upstairs, then to another room upstairs, then back downstairs, repeat 8x...it was musical rooms.

not bad though, i kind of liked getting up and stretching every once in a while.

well, you know the rule of no cell phones are allowed?...

well, the AP Calc exam had just begun and all of a sudden, the phone went off (glad it wasn't my phone, which i left at home). The proctor went over and collected the guy's exam, and for 3 hours he sat there doing nothing.

One of the exam administrations last year took eight hours: three for the exam, two for the breaks and fill-in period, and three more to correct the errors in the recording for the speaking section.

my exam sucked for econ. The proctor says start and writes on the board the start time and end time and then i look up at the clock thinking i have plenty of time stil only to discover that it froze and i was running out of time as she yelled 10 minutes left.that was crap it froze for about twenty minutes in which i didnt look at the clock and then it started moving again so i didnt suspect anything.

Yes, AP Physics C Test.

The Protactor was eating a salad behind me and pounding away on her keyboard during the whole time. Plus, it was so noisy for like most of the test >.<

well in my ap stats exam the proctor starts talking about how he went to yale and then he tells the valedictorian to make her speech funny but not to funny and to also be serious but not to serious. Then he describes his experience in Yale and i just said "you are aware we r in the middle of a test right" and he said yea but u guys look like u deserve a break. Then someone asks if we r getting more time and he says no, then we r all like then it itsnt a break let us focus.

haha I was pumped about taking our APUSH test in our APUSH classroom, since we didn't have school last friday. However, i soon found out that no school means yard work. as soon as we started the MC the weedwhacking started, as did another machine which honestly sounded like a chainsaw, RIGHT OUTSIDE the classroom. By the time someone got them to stop, the MC was over...luckily, it was easy.

For calc, we were in what probably used to be a closet, there was barely enough room for the 4 testtakers and the proctor. So we're halfway through the FRQs and the proctor busts out her lunch and starts muching like two feet away from us..very annoying.

but at the same time that doesn't compare to fire alarms or moving from class to class, etc., so i guess i can't really complain, just sharing my experiences.

Lol, at my school, we're forced to wear uniforms, but many Seniors don't really listen to the dress code.

During the Ap Biology test, one of the teachers proctoring went around and stopped at each table to give a dress code violation to some students. It was really distracting to see a 6 ft woman dressed in a bright red track suit walking around and stopping at certain tables. And, there are 3 people to a table and the girl next to me was wearing flipflops (which is against the dress code) and the teacher made so much noise trying to manage all these papers and write on the same desk.

I almost busted out laughing at how stupid she looked. Anyway, most of the people who go the dress codes were really ****ed and decided to argue with the principal about it about what a distraction the teacher was.

:( During my AP Calc AB test, there was some construction going on, on my school's roof. So for most of the exam, all we could hear was JACKHAMMERING! It was terrible! The proctors tried to get messages over to the construction workers but nothing they did stopped that annoying noise! Finally, towards the end of the FRQs, my school's principal went and had them stop himself.

I considered contacting the College Board to report it as a testing irregularity, but I feel that I got at least a 4 anyway so I didn't bother. Besides, the thought of enduring through that test again, and possibly through a more difficult version wasn't at all appealing ;)

But let me tell you something I learned from that experience:

AP Calculus + Jackhammering = the perfect combination for a KILLER headache! :D I'm just SO GLAD the same didn't happen during my AP Physics B exam. I would've seriously been in trouble - that is, moreso than I already was in taking that test ;).

Some of you have had it pretty bad :( I'm sorry. I feel for you all. No AP student should have to endure noise and distractions during their tests - especially when they've prepared for them all year (or all 24 hours before the test :D haha) and paid for their exam(s)! While I didn't read everyone's situations, I HOPE none of you had it as terrible as I did!
