I applied to Fordham EA through the Common App along with 4 other colleges. I have received acknowledgement from all the colleges except Fordham that my application was received. The Common App website shows the application went through. Did anyone who applied EA hear from Fordham yet? TIA

My D applied EA. She got a postcard from Fordham shortly after the application was filed saying that they will let her know if her application is missing anything and that she should not call admissions. There is no online application status check at Fordham as far as I know. So, I’m guessing we won’t hear anything until December. I don’t know if it makes a difference but she applied with Fordham’s application, not the common app.

Thank you for your reply. I will keep checking my mail. It is very odd that they do not use e-mail. They need to go green

that his application was complete and would be receiveing an email follow up with directions in a few weeks so that he can check the progress of application.

also said the css profile had to be submitted by 11-28-11

I don’t think I heard until December back when I applied EA.

I can’t tell if you were talking about receiving confirmation that they received all your materials, or just contact in general/admissions decisions. So I’ll cover both! I received a letter saying they’d give me an ID number for an online status check soon… haven’t gotten it. Then I received the following text in an email yesterday:

“On behalf of the Committee on Admission, I have some good news. You have been identified as a truly outstanding applicant. Rather than wait until mid-December, we wanted to let you know now that you are going to be offered admission to Fordham University for the Fall 2012 semester. Congratulations!”

I do not think that the online application check is their main method of notifying people about admission decisions. (The email continued on to say “While the official offer of admission will not be mailed until mid-December…”) So don’t worry too much about that portion of it. If you applied with the Common App, you can check that they downloaded (received) many application parts!

I applied Early Action (I submitted my app a couple of weeks before the deadline). Keep in mind that they probably just singled me out for this email as a National Merit Semi-Finalist, so don’t be nervous if you haven’t received such an email. But I wanted to mention this, because it talks about mid-December (rather than the specific date of December 15 that is sometimes mentioned), and hints that Fordham might be ahead in their application reading this year (I have no idea - just conjecture!).

I got the same email as well, ye I’m bot any more outstanding than half of the other applicants: I have 3.85w and a 31 ACT, which I guess is “outstanding”
