Just wondering if anyone applied for this and if so have you heard anything?

What? No community service minded scholarship seekers here?

everyone did..every person that is accepted is put into the pool for the ingram scholarship.

I don't think so, tcmt- There is a separate application with letters of recommendation and short essays required. The other scholarships are largely selected from the pool of applicants without a separate app. Something else reqs a separate app, but my cat is sitting in my lap and she cannot be moved to retrieve that info. Sorry!

I

when i visited the admissions officer said that everyone is pooled into the scholarship pool..including the ingram. but im sure you have to have at least say 2000 hrs to even be considered for the ingram.

where did you get the info about 2000 hrs? Did they tell you that or was it anecdotal?

Also, if you visited, what were your impressions of the school?

Yes, my S applied as well, and there was a seperate and detailed application.

My D applied, it is a separate scholarship, and she got a letter today from the Ingram Scholars program. She's not home, won't be until late, so I'm not sure what it is. She hasn't been accepted to Vanderbilt yet, hasn't visited (we live in the northeast, went regular decision. I'll keep you posted.

very exciting pamsotti- what does it look like? Is it fat?!!

No, it is a regular legal envelope, looks like a one page letter in it. It could be a thank you for applying, but... kind of letter. D is currently co-directing the one-act dinner theatre at her high school, so won't be home until around 10:00 p.m. I am just a little anxious!!!!

Good luck to you both!! I'm at work still so have no idea what's in our mail. Undoubtedly bills......

Is it your son or daughter? Did they apply early or regular decision? Have you seen Vanderbilt? Where else did they apply? Have they heard from any yet? (Sorry for all of the questions?)

Daughter. Regular. Never set foot on the place. :-) Only heard from state schools, but should hear from one this week.
Have you been there? What was your impression? What state are you from?

We've never been there, just heard about it from the guidance counselor. Daughter has heard from Boston College (gives 15 merit scholarships so probably no money there), Case Western (got a great scholarship), and UConn (half tuition scholarship). We're from Connecticut. Still waiting on others, she applied to a dozen.

It was an invite to Vanderbilt for interview, etc... - she is so incredibly thrilled!!!

I also applied for the Ingram Scholarship and am from the Northeast. What did the letter that your daughter got from the Ingram Program say?

It said that she was one of 21 finalists for the Ingram Scholarship Program. Then it gave info on how to confirm her interest and how to make arrangements for travel. D is incredibly honored and very excited! I'm not sure how selections were made, because I'm sure everyone who applied was very qualified.

Congratulations pamsott1!
Do you mind sharing her stats?
