If so, have you received any offers yet?

I applied about 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back from them. I think my chances are very low. :(

I submitted something my joint proposal about a month ago, still haven’t heard anything back.

I had my application completed by February 1st and still haven’t heard back from them. I’m not too worried; all pf my communication with the program recruiters has led me to believe that most decisions will not go out until after the deadline (March 15th).

Has anybody heard back from this yet? Their website seemed to indicate that decisions would come out pretty shortly after the deadline…

Depending on what you applied for, it may still be open.

I’ve noticed that at the bottom of some of the position I’ve applied for it now says:

"You are currently unable to apply for this opportunity. This could be because

* The application period for the opportunity has closed

It is only like this for 2/15 of the opportunities that I have applied for (summer internships) which leads me to believe those are the ones that have already been filled.

Does anybody know if a phone interview is typically done before being offered a position? I talked to one of the mentors on the phone but unfortunately that was one of the positions I believe is filled.

The way I’ve been told NASA funding for students is distributed is these sorts of fellowships are reviewed on a national level (NASA as a whole), and then they choose to pass along X many applications to each center (though not necessarily the same for each center). At the center, there’s then a chief technologist or something of that sort that looks at those applications, sees he only has money for Y people (where Y < X), and then chooses which positions/individuals to fund.

Not every posting on the OSSI website will get a student to fill it. I know for the GSRP all that’s required to get a spot listed is a person fill out an application with an outline of their project, have their technologist approve it, and then it’s on the website. There’s no guarantee of funding for that spot.

Haven’t heard anything as of March 25th.

I received an offer and accepted a position at Jet Propulsion Lab

congratulations HawaiianPunch!

how soon after the deadlines closed did you get the offer from JPL?

Didn’t hear anything back from them as of April 4th… getting kinda nervous =/

Haven’t heard anything yet for a fellowship, either.

Anyone hear stuff back on a fellowship? I know the person I applied to do a project with has had to respond to a bunch of inquiries about my proposal since my application went in (along with a few other applicants they had), but neither of us have heard anything in a bit.
