Did anyone attend Polycultural?

What did you do, what were your impressions, and how has it influenced your decision to attend?

Also, what did you think of the dorms and dorm life?

Hey @maxillarymola! I did attend PolyCultural Weekend. I am a transfer student so I felt a little bit out of place since most of the people there were incoming freshmen. We were introduced to a lot of clubs, but mostly clubs for minorities students (Asian-related or Latin-related, etc.). We also had tours of the college that is specific to your major and a downtown tour. I saw a couple of the dorms (the Red Bricks?, and a dorm called Whitney), I think these are the older dorms and it was not too impressive to me. The Red Brick had 3 people to one room and it was very very cramped… But everyone seemed really friendly!!! One bad thing was that I didn’t get a chance to experience the real campus feel because a lot of hosts at the event were largely Asians, while the school has a huge Caucasian population. I’m Asian, so I’m not trying to offend anyone. The downtown was cute but I honestly thought I would have liked the campus more, for me, I just felt like there was something missing. Something just didn’t “click” for ME. I was so sure now I’m not so sure if Cal Poly SLO is for me.

BUT the environment, people, city were all really really nice!!!
