Did anyone else apply to Clarkson University?

Received my acceptance today! Waited till the last minute to submit too!

Ahh, why isnā€™t mine coming any sooner?

I applied to 7 colleges on January 15th, the last day of RD for most, and so far Iā€™ve been accepted to 3. I guess they just do things randomly because some people I know that applied way back in like december and november have been accepted, while others havenā€™t heard back yet. I donā€™t really know.

Mine should be getting reviewed because i signed up for honors.

I received my acceptance through an email. Iā€™m all the way from Saipan, CNMI! Hope they send something in the mail.

I got accepted a few days ago.

Are the acceptances through the mail or online? We misplaced the letter that came in the mail with the login.

I got accepted like a week ago. The acceptance letter was cute haha

Donā€™t think ill be attending

My son received his acceptance letter last week but no info. on scholarship awards?

Yeah scholarship and awards come in March according to admissions. You get notified online and mail.

My son applied for the honors program. Does anyone know when they reach out for interviews?

They contacted me and they told me Iā€™m waitlisted for the interviewā€¦ They said they havenā€™t gone through all applications yet. When you apply, they contact you after a few weeks.

The only info I could find is that interviews should be completed by March 31. If you get offered an interview that is a really good sign. My son is on his way back from a visit right now, Iā€™ll see if he learned anything when he gets home.

Someone in admissions told my son they will be notifying for honors interviews in the next two weeks. He had a tour, hung out in the dining hall for a while, spoke to admissions and went to a hockey game. He enjoyed the visit and said the students were very nice.

My son just received an eMail this evening saying heā€™s made it into the honors program - no interview. $2k scholarship over and above whatever other scholarships he may yet receive.

Weird, but heā€™s pretty happy.

Congrats to your son!!. What are his stats?

Thanks, lilmelonred -

SATs: 790 math, 620 reading, 650 writing
SAT II: Math Level 2 780, Chemistry 760
Weighted GPA: 4.0, Unweighted somewhere between 3.7 & 4.0

Hi allā€¦congrats on your acceptances! Starting to look at schools with outstanding Game Design (in this case Digital Arts and Sciences). Would you share a little about why you chose Clarkson? Thanks for your feedback!

My son is looking to major in ChemE and is also interested in materials engineering. He wants to go to a school that has ready access to outdoor activities and he does not mind the cold and the snow. They have a pretty active outdoors club. They arenā€™t ranked super high but they are up there and have really good job placement. They also have a reputation for giving good merit aid. We are about 6 hours away, he went for a visit last week. He really liked the campus and liked that the students seemed ā€œnormalā€ whatever that means. Maybe compared to some of the other schools he visited. They have been doing a lot of construction on campus in recent years, so the buildings are pretty nice. It is very remote, so you would really need to visit to see if you could stand it for 4 or 5 years. The ratio of guys to girls is still pretty bad, though getting better. The only public school he appled to is our state flagship, he really is looking for a smaller school. Okay that was kinda rambly but I hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply! Anywhere else he is excited about? Hope all works out wherever he choses!
