did anyone else do this?

I was an idiot and tried to solve the matric problem by plugging in numbers and then solving the problem on my graphing calculator.

It tookk up so much time! And eventually when I finally figured out the right way to solve it, I didn't even need to use my calculator.

Did anyone else mess up like I did?

Last time I looked at matrices was in 8th grade, and it was a quick short assignment that was extra credit for our 1st test.

I didn’t make that mistake, I just did it the normal way I guess. I was some # after #50 right? I thought it was supposed to be extremely hard, unless there’s some trick to matrices.

Was this the determinant one? All you had to do was 1st term x 3rd term - 2nd term x 4th term. Or is this a different one?

there are so many shortcuts on the act..like the ones you think you have to graph, you dont..it’s just logic

Oh gosh I was about to do that.. then some kid kicked his chair and it made a really loud noise.. so I woke up from my little daze and thought about it and im like.. OH GOD the answer is just logical.. no numbers necessary.

all u had to do was follow the example tht they gave..

yeah lol they showed you how to find the determinant of a 2x2 matrix.

i know.

i feel stupid

(top left)(bottom right) - (top right)(bottom left) = determinate

i get it thanks

determinites are pretty easily forgotten things… i really have never understood why we use matrices.. oh well

u can actually use matrices to easily solve a system of equations with 3 variables.

I couldn’t remember how to do those and then I looked at it again and realized how easy it was.

YEAH matrices totally saved my life a bunch of times lol. i even use them for 2x2 equations!! >:P

oh my gosh! are you serious?!? that was the EASIEST problem ever.
they gave you an exact example. you just had to copy it.

^i think they realized XD

Wow.

Thanks for making me feel good about myself.

“oh my gosh! are you serious?!? that was the EASIEST problem ever.

not everyone understands matrices (or didn’t see that part of the problem maybe because they were moving as fast as they could on the math section).. don’t give him such a hard time
