So five minutes ago, I got a call from this woman asking for me. So then I took the phone and she asked me if I was thinking of applying and whether or not I had any questions. She told me to take my time, and sat there patiently as I frantically scoured my brain to ask her something. She seemed to be really nice and it was weird.
I asked her some random questions and she answered them really thoroughly.
I can't believe Harvard would call 20,000 kids to get them to apply! Well that's how many kids I think Harvard's going to call. Or maybe even more.

Thoughts, questions, and other call receivers please post!

I got a call too. I told her i didn't have any questios at the time but that I was gunna apply so she gave me her number to call her back if I had any more questions. It was a little weird but cool I guess.

I agree! His posts aren't useful...lol. Anyway, has anyone one the West Coast gotten one? I got the three-page letter, but I would love a call...

I was just pointing out how ridiculous such posts are. No body cares that you got a phone call from Harvard, because odds are stacked against you. There are kids out there who get personal visits (me being one of them) but I've never mentioned it to anyone. Its pretty obvious that your predisposed to glory-whoring when you make threads like this.

Take a hint, and stop trying to bolster your ego. Its unncecssary and causes kids to become concerned about their pending admissions to Harvard because they didn't get a two minute phone call from some lackie Harvard hired to do its bidding.

And yes I am indeed VERY happy to have not gone to Harvard especially after the stories i've heard about how big of a hell hole it is.

You are so funny! you keep trying to convince everyone of the fact that you are so happy with cornell, but it sure doesn't seem like it since you are trying so hard. If you were really happy with your decision you would stay on the cornell site and try to offer some valuable information to students and parents, but instead you troll around other school sites bashing them.

How sad to be you! Now go home - bye bye :)

I don't think that phone calls are a big deal either, no offense. It doesn't increase your chances, it just means that Harvard is responding to people's interest in them. I got a similar phone call from yale, and it was pretty much pointless and a waste of time because the person on the other line isn't going to tell you the downfalls of their school, but glorify it for you. Good luck with harvard, and don't get hopes up because of a phone call- sorry.
