Around 8 hours ago I got accepted into the General Engineering major. Did anyone else get an email?
@Shivin302, can you elaborate? What did the email say? It is unusual for VT to begin announcing RD decisions this early unless there are other considerations. Was the email a notification from the College of Engineering that you are advancing to the second round of the Davenport scholarship?

The first part of the email said the following:
Congratulations! We are delighted to offer you admission to Virginia Tech in General Engineering for Fall 2017. Since admission to Virginia Tech is a selective process, you should take pride in this accomplishment.
To accept this offer of admission you must pay the $400 matriculation fee. You will not receive your welcome packet until this fee is paid. Please follow the steps below:
The email did not mention anything about scholarships, but I think I got a decision early because I am an international student
