I got a weird PM message from
omaromar, New Member. He/ she has no posts. Gave an email to contact
them. Anyone else get this too?
This was the actual message:
omaromar 4:14PM
Am mercy,
can i talk to you,in my email (mercyomar1@hotmail.com)
Does anyone know how to contact a CC moderator?
There should be a way to flag the message, no?
Not that I see. But I did just repost this in the forum issues thread. Hopefully a moderator or administrator will see it there. I can’t be the only CCer this person contacted.
I presume you did not divulge your email by replying. Scary. I can’t find the way to complain about/report a bad post or we could get this flagged for the moderators.
This happens to me quite often. Just copy the contents of the message with the posters name and pm a mod
No, didn’t respond to them. But want to stop them from PMing me again or contacting anyone else on this forum .
I think I’m going to flag my first post here so that moderator will take a look. Hopefully that’s a reasonable way of handling this issue?
RM, why don’t you do what I suggested? It gets taken care of pretty quickly that way.
I did too
Not sure now to find a moderator. Will investigate. Thanks.
Ok, I think I found a moderator and PM them to take care of this. Not sure how someone with no posting history at all was able to send me a PM. Don’t you need a certain number of posts to do that, or did this goofball hack his/ her way through that as well?
Ever since the downgrade, you no longer need a certain number of posts in order to pm people. At least for me, it’s certainly increased the amount of spam.
Yes I got it too.
I think either SDN or Biology Forums still have the policy of minimum posts for PMing someone.
MODERATOR’S NOTE: I just banned the user.
No, there is no longer a minimum number of posts required in order to send PMs. The moderators requested that the feature be reinstated, with no luck.
Thanks @MaineLonghorn!
