Did anyone else get an invitation for Connect Carolina today? It's "an overnight program on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill designed to help high-achieving underrepresented students sample the rich academic and social opportunities at Carolina." It's set for February 6-7. Does this mean I got in, or do they send this to everyone?

Btw, I'm new here, and am anxiously waiting for tomorrow! Good luck to everyone :)

I am Hispanic, but the letter does not specifically say, "Hurray! You got accepted!" so I don't know if this is an early notification for minorities.

I got it too. Swoopes-yea they have accepted student weekends later. For now lets go URMs. Hope i can get down for it. Seems like it will be a good experience and taste of what student life is really like

what do u do during this program. its gonna b kinda expensive and inconvenient for me to travel from nj to nc, is it worth the gas money and hotel for my parents.

can anyone who went in past years say what they did.

Collegebound, I don't know anything about this specific program but when I was about to begin college, my university had a similar program. It was burdensome to get to but started my college career out on the right foot. I met people, learned about academic programs, got a feel for the campus, learned the geography. I didn't go with my parents. Granted I don't know your situation, but is there any possibility of going alone to reduce your costs?

everytime I hit “view events” in my event portal, a screen comes up that says Connect Carolina but there is no explanation and the only option on the screen in to log out of MyUNC
what does that mean? =/
