Did anyone else get this email from Cornell?!

The email was highlighting summer programs and internships for Cornell students regardless of their major. Do you guys think they admitted me and are sending me this info as kind of a hint of what I can do as a Cornell student.

It sounds like a stretch, but I suppose it is possible. In any event, you will know in 75 hours!

I got that email too and I'm an alum (although I'm still listed as a student in the directory. Hmm). I think they send it to anyone they can reach.

I believe if you are on their email list, they send it to you. For example, if you signed up to be on their mailing list.

I also received the e-mail...although I am an alum. It was fairly generic e-mail...prob went to anyone with an active NetID.

sjar...when did you graduate? I graduated in May 08 and received and e-mail from CIT a few weeks ago saying that on December 12....I would be listed as an alum in the directory and will lose access to the library system, webmail and such...

May 08 for me too, and I got that email as well. It made me sad.

^^I know...it's depressing to think about...we'll be official alumns :-P

I'll just go to the All Ivy Holiday Happy Hour in New Orleans the following Tuesday and take care of my sorrows :-)

I didn't get the email :(

Here's an interesting email story: When I was applying to med school, someone from the admissions office thought it would be funny to send the applicants a derogatory email (something to the effect of "you've been rejected. you need to sleep with a member of the adcom to get in"). What was interesting was that not everyone who interviewed at the med school received the email so although it was in poor taste, we spent days trying to figure out if the email actually meant something (since whoever it was in the admissions office had access to the list of interviewees and presumably their admissions decisions).

yea it means nothing trust me my sister is in the vet grad thing n they send it to ppl on their mailing list

That's because you're a real alum :-P
