Glass empty, glass full.

yaa i got one too

Got the letter also. I just called USC Admissions also and this is what I was told:

I asked if everyone who applied for scholarships (turned in app by Dec. 10) but have did not receive a scholarship got this letter and she said yes.

All those considered for Trustee and Presidential scholarships (interview required) have been notified. No other acceptances will go out until the first week of April. This includes those recipients of Deans or Associates scholarships (no interview required.)

The only applicants who will get notified between now and the first week of April will be those who receive scholarships outside the admissions office like Alumni scholarships. No one has or will receive rejections until April.

So according to what I was told- everyone should have received this letter if they didn't get the Presidential or Trustee scholarship. But there's still hope for a Dean or Associate scholarship- we just have to wait until March/April.

So everyone that will receive Trustee/Presidential have been accepted.
But do everybody who have been accepted receive Trustee/Presidential?

I've been accepted, but have received no letters about scholarships or any other type of letter other than the admission letter.

Do you know what's up with that?

Thanks!

I applied by the scholarship deadline and I didn't get a scholarship... I didn't receive this letter yet,

If I don't receive this letter by the following week, does that mean I'm rejected admission already?

Not necessarily. I applied by the deadline, didn't get the scholarship rejection letter, didn't get one of the big scholarships, but was accepted the first week of February. This was last year.

See, For5aken, I'd think that but with an unweighted 3.6 and SAT I score of 1900, I really doubt i'll be accepted the first week of february like you..

For5aken, what the heck...that's so lame ;). I got accepted beginning of this week...and reading this I thought there might still be a chance for me to get pres/trustee since I didn't get the scholarship rejection letter.

But then you come along and say you didn't either :P.

E-Mail received requesting financial Aid documents (tax returns). The saga continues ;)

Well, maybe my scholarship letter got lost in the mail. :p

I'm in NJ and haven't gotten any letters from USC. I guess my mailman sucks? (I applied by Dec 11)

the paranoia is palpable in this thread hehe

i think i got my acceptance letter in one of the first days of March. and it wasn't until after that that i found out that i got the Deans' scholarship. so remember...patience is a virtue ;)

lol I guess I am just freaking out like all the other applicants who haven't receive a packet.

Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that they were rejected just because they haven't been admitted thus far?

Based on what I've read so far, no one will know their final admissions decision until April unless they get a decision letter sooner than that - i.e. if you don't get a letter that explicitly states you've been admitted or rejected, you just have to wait. There are no clues based on the mail, and the patterns/timings of the letters they send out don't suggest any greater likelihood of rejection or admission. MYRs or trustee/pres rejection letters don't reveal anything about your admissions status or admissions prospects. You people need to relax! :D

Everyone (including me) seems to be a victim of CC-itis :)

Lets use our common sense, shall we?

And not jump to any rash conclusions..

My student received the same "no scholarship" letter last year, and was accepted in mid-March. Keep in mind, also, that it seems like in March they send acceptances out once a week because some of his friends heard two weeks before him, some one week before him, and some one and two weeks after him. It's definitely "waves" in March, early April.

Truly spoken, I agree.

this may have been answered but, if i got that letter but NOT the request for mid-year grades, is this good?

Sigh, re-read the post 4 above yours.
