Did anyone just get an email from Davidson asking you to withdraw any enrollment from any schools (if you were accepted ED)? I’m wondering if this is an indication that I was accepted.
D got that too. I think it’s just so they don’t spend time considering a candidate that’s already committed elsewhere. Though I like your interpretation better!
My DD got the same email today, too.
S19 got it too. Many kids who were nominated for the Belk but didn’t move on in the competition might choose another school now. I think those are the kids they want to make sure are still interested. Many full pay families who can’t afford full tuition have their kids apply for competitive scholarships like the Belk and, if they don’t get it, then the family can’t afford the school.
My son received the same email yesterday. I think it’s just a reminder to let the school know if you accepted a spo at another school. Although this is my son’s top choice so I hope I’m wrong!
Ha @“IMPATIENT MOM” Great name. I’m impatient for this to all be over as well!!
My D, who did not progress with the Belk, got this email last year. She did end up with another other (small) merit money that was shared with her before the regular acceptance date.
Just to clarify @katespeare, you actually found out BEFORE the acceptance date that your daughter got into Davidson because she got a merit scholarship? How far in advance of the regular acceptance date?
@packacards Yes, my D found out prior to the release date that she got a scholarship. I don’t remember how far in advance, but it was at least a week/10 days, I believe. Of course, there was a slip-up in her case. She got an email telling her that she did NOT get a scholarship, then got an apology email saying that she did in fact get one.
EDITED TO SAY: She got an email around March 16 concerning the scholarship, and decisions were released the evening of March 21. So five days.
