did anyone else just receive a weird call from princeton?

what's going on???

yup, I did. It said there was a gunman on campus. As sarcastic as that might have sounded, that’s really what it said.

omg that’s so scary!!!

yeah, but some people in the facebook group might be saying that it’s a prank. there’s no notice of it on the notification website or whatever, so idk.

It is right on the main website! Man with a handgun seen on campus! Guns all over: VTech, Wesleyan, Harvard, Princeton.

it was on CNN!

[Princeton University - EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION – ALL CLEAR – Updated 12:10 p.m.](<a href=“EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION -- ALL CLEAR -- Updated 12:10 p.m.”>EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION -- ALL CLEAR -- Updated 12:10 p.m.)

It was four young teens and a toy plastic handgun. They’re not even likely to be charged.

LOL! Yeah, it’s a REAL dangerous campus …

I found the hysterics of many Princeton students to be quite amusing. Chill out, people.

I heard yesterday they shut down the campus because someone saw a scary monster shadow on a wall.

Turns out it was just some whacky frat boys making shadow puppets.

You know, considering that an individual was shot and killed at Harvard and given all the gun violence at universities, its a bit absurd that the university’s response can be construed as overreacting or extreme. Thank god it ended up being a toy gun but its not as though its easy to tell the difference between the two. Someone must have reported seeing a gun, the university erred on the side of caution and acted as they should have. So how about we tone down the cries of “hysterics” and implying that the university’s response was inappropriate.

I applaud Princeton’s quick and appropriate reaction in this case; the whole incident lasted under half an hour.

face it, the majority of the people who go to princeton likely haven’t seen a civilian carrying a weapon in their life. they’re all sheltered and sad lol
