Plenty of SCEA applicants weren’t interviewed

My daughter hasn’t been contacted. No biggie, everyone says, except two other kids from her HS were called this week, one of whom submitted his RD application very early. She is feeling (and I am feeling it by extension) rejected already, despite knowing it is not supposed to matter.

Had no one locally been contacted, it wouldn’t be a big deal. Because others were, it is very depressing.

I haven’t been contacted and I don’t think I’ll ever get one. But some other students in my city had their interviews. I agree with OHmyDD95. Though all my friends and my counselor keep telling me that it’s not a big deal, I still feel like I’m already rejected. :(

Although I had one, let me say this–we have no reason to distrust the school’s official policy. What would they gain by lying?

I know it’s always easier said than done, though.

Perhaps this sets up a scenario for a pleasant surprise :)

What’s done is done, so try to relax (I know it’s hard, I’m having a hard time!) Best of luck!

Ohmy and raspberry: 23 year interviewer here. Your not getting called means nothing.

I can’t predict eventual accept/reject or whatever; you eventually might get rejected – but the fact that an alumnus didn’t call isn’t a factor. That’s just not how it works.

Well…not a Yale interviewer, but for another school. For every person dying to get an interview, apparently there are other who just couldn’t care less. Got an assignment a few days ago and emailed ASAP. Haven’t heard a peep and it’s now well over 48 hours and counting…
