Did anyone else receive the UC Berkeley Merit Scholarship email?

^ I don’t think it matters. I have a 4.0 and didn’t get one either.

I was invited to UCLA Regents and denied from the University (my admission was pending online for 3 weeks after everyone’s decision was released).

So, I wouldn’t take this as any sort of indicator.

On that same note, I was invited this year this merit award. Does anyone know if it’s due on the 24th or later? I’m going to call in Monday.

yeah i dont think it matters. i have 4.0 with alot of extra curricular. had a good personal statement. never got an email. SAD!

just out of curiosity, what major did you apply for whatasunnyday

i guess the leadership award is available for us, transfers, to apply in may (if we get accepted). but the achievement award is due on wednesday

did anybody finish there scholarship essays yet?

Could someone please tell me if there is an income eligibility requirement for the Achievement Award that’s due Wednesday?

i dont think there is, it is a leadership scholarship award.

Oh oops, I actually think there is - $86,000 or less per year.

Thus, I guess wouldn’t qualify.

I don’t think the Leadership Scholarship has an eligibility requirement, but that one is due in May, right?

is one in may for transfer students? if not does anybody have the link for it?

im just gonna half-ass my essays. i have 2 midterms on wednesday and one on thursday. and my daddy+mommy make less than $70,000 so i don’t have to pay tuition anyway. i’m assuming that even if i DO win this scholarship it would be applied to my tuition anyway, and if i don’t win it i’ll get other UC grants to cover it anyway. so meh

“and my daddy+mommy make less than $70,000 so i don’t have to pay tuition anyway.” oh ok so if you parents less than that they dont have to pay tuition?

^yes, well it’s your total household income. so ur income plus ur parents’ income must be less than $70,000

[UC Blue and Gold Opportunity](Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan | UC Admissions)

basically if ur cal grant/pell grant dont give u enough to cover ur tuition, then UCs will give u grants to make it up.

Funnypunjabi, there is one in May (the Leadership Scholarship) for transfer students. Here is the link:

@emilsinclair9 thanks :)

@laker so you pretty much dont have to pay for any tutition for all your 4 years?

That’s just how laker does business ;).

^yea it’s bc i’m gonna opt out of my contract after this season so i wont be making no money. i can sign a max deal with the lakers if i wanted to ($100 mil plus). but i’d rather sit on my ass for a while and get financial aid instead for college

I called UCB and the Merit scholarship is not due until later. Anyone who was invited was invited by mistake. I don’t know about the Achievement award because I didn’t get invited to that one.

^u dont have to get invited. u just go to the site and fill it out if u want. it’s open to all berkeley applicants. the regents scholarship is the only one that u have to be invited to apply for
