A current yale undergrad called late Sunday evening and offered to answer some questions about the school. We talked for nearly an hour, and he was extremely helpful. We will probably talk again at the end of the week.

Did anyone of you also get a call?

I have been admitted to a lot of schools, but by now yale has been the only one that puts so much effort into recruiting me...they make you feel somehow special!

Yeah, I got a call last year. I actually found it incredibly creepy, and made up some lame excuse about having to be somewhere. I appreciate the effort though

I got one a few weeks after being accepted EA and another one after that. I appreciated it - much more personal than admissions efforts at other schools. (very indicative of Yale as a whole, in my opinion)

I think a LOT of universities do this. So far for me, its been Princeton, Penn, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern, BU, and Tufts.

But i did what Ctrain did...and said i had to go to track practice or toke up or something. Hehehe

i never got a call...sniffle...maybe its because i sent in the matriculation card in january....

they sent out an email to all yale students about two weeks ago asking if we'd be willing to call or email this year's prefrosh. i did the email thing... and i know some people who signed up to call but never got around to it. if you didn't get a call, it's not because the admissions office doesn't like you - your name probably just got randomly assigned to a lazy yalie :-P

if it helps, i'd love to say CONGRATULATIONS! and if you have any questions about yale, feel free to PM me or something. i love talking to possible future yalies :-P

I got a call from H and P, but not from Yale yet. The H person was actually helpful because he was also pre-med and made the decision between H and Brown PLME. I saw on the Caller ID that P called, and I didn't want to pick it up, since i already eliminated P from my college choices. My mom made me pick up the phone anyway, and I asked one lame question. Then he asked if I had more questions, and I was like "um..." for like 5 seconds. Then I told him I'd call back if I had more questions. It was pretty bad, and I felt kind of bad for him. I know I shouldn't, but it makes me feel bad when people ask if I have questions, and I don't because they're only trying to help (okay, trying to recruit).

In a different thread yesterday I said that I've gotten nothing from Yale. Then today I got the letter from my admissions director that other people got, as well as a phone call from a junior at Yale, followed by a phone call from Harvard.
