What it says- NYU says that not getting an invite means nothing, you can still get an acceptance

So, thus far, has anyone who was accepted via the BIG ENVELOPE, NOT get some kind of prior notification

So, if those accepted all got invites, than NYU fibbed, but let us see how this plays out...so we are looking for accepted to NYU applicants who got nada before the big pack

I know of a Tisch acceptance yesterday who did not get previous invite of any kind.

my friend just got into NYU today without an email or invite

^Hmm.. okay.. that gives me some hope.

sigh, sigh, sigh
NYU, you never write or phone or email
am sitting here in the dark
what shall I think??

NYU doesn't fib. Not everyone who is accepted gets an invitation to the early April events. It would be impossible for them to invite all who are admitted to visit during those weekends. The majority of accepted kids don't get invites! Official letters of acceptance are just now starting to be received and will continue into next week. April 1 is the notification date and it's not April 1 yet, why are people so impatient when NYU makes it clear from the start that you'll be notified on or around April 1? I know that it's hard waiting and waiting but come on now, let's not get too crazy and accuse them of 'fibbing'. NYU always sends acceptances out first and rejections out after. Patience, people.

^^^I hope you're right because i am getting worried.

Good job. I like you a lot man.

i just got in today with the big envelope without any prior notification

seemstazzzzzzzz. I hope I'm as lucky as you.
congragulations, btw.

how do people know that NYU sends out rejection letters last?!??! is that what the admissions office said to u? cause that sure as heck isn't what they said to me

it isn't what they said, but it appears to be the reality

packages, in general take longer to receive from the same address as envelopes do

and if more acceptances are recieved before most rejections, and there are more rejections sent.....

well I dont think that's true, no offense... Two of my friends from NY and Jersey got rejected today. And obviously, all the letters have not been sent out yet, so rejection letters technically are not saved for last....

ahh im incredibly nervous.. i hope decisions come by tomorrow!

anna, I'm a junior. Rejections always come out later than acceptances. This is how it's been done for the past few years. People all over the country have been reporting receiving acceptances since early in the week. Rejection letters have just started being reported in locations close to the city. So it looks like they're doing it again this year. As of Friday, I would bet that all letters have been mailed. The admissions people aren't going to admit that they send the rejections last but history proves that that is the way they do it.

thanx dawn1029! don't worry it will come! It all comes at random times so don't stress!

hmmm cool. that's great
