Just curious.

Who all got into MIT? Post here. I want to get in touch (via email?). I got accepted for MIT '15 from India. Just registered now to post this!

I think you need to change the title to “Did everyone get into MIT/CalTech from India?”

ibvtnz: Congratulations! Unfortunately, as far I know, no-one on this forum got into MIT. I think the MIT Club of India (or whatever it is officially called), will send you a mail soon enough, with all the admitted students’ name and emails. Again, congratulations!

A friend of mine got waitlisted at Caltech (I’m from Dubai) but he’s an Indian so I guess this counts or wait maybe it doesn’t …

Woah! There’s an MIT Club of India?? And they send you the names of everyone else who got accepted? Is there something like that for all universities/colleges, or just MIT?

There’s a Princeton club of India. Pretty extensive.

The Columbia Club of India is so small, thats its not even funny.

I have an Indian passport and I got waitlisted at Caltech and rejected at MIT. That MIT rejection still hurts.
I really loved that school. Might try transferring…

Well I’m thinking of applying to MIT myself at the end of this year for 2012.
My profile goes something like this::

GRE 690V 800Q AWA Unknown
GPA 3.5 in Computer Engineering from Mumbai University
2 years working as a software developer at a startup
1 month internship at CMC
OK its not done yet, but I’m in the process of startin my own web development company with 2 of my friends and have designed a few sites already
I have a couple of National Quiz Certificates…
Was on My college’s editorial board.
TOEFL: Still to give, but I hope I’ll get over 105 or so

Does this seem even close to a kind of profile that a person would apply with for a Computer Science Masters in MIT???
Or even Stanford, UC Berkeley or UCSD???

Yep yep Im indian and I got into Caltech. Didnt apply to that other institute of engineering ;)

And what were your credentials my dear…
IS CalTech held in higher esteem than UC Berkeley or Stanford?

Well…my dear, Caltech is considered to be around the same level as MIT and Stanford and perhaps a little better than Berkeley. But I got in undergrad so those stats are not applicable to you

mystic gohan i need ur help

Congrats to those who got in-no small feat for an international student-Have fun & GL.

^this thread was for the Class of 2015!!

Okay silly question byt what does “” I got accepted for MIT '15 from India."""" mean?

Which course and how did you apply , etc?

That means he/she got accepted to the MIT Class of 2015,i.e, for Fall 2011.

That user seems no longer on CC.

My friend got into MIT on early action for class of 2017 and she is not even a medal winner:p

^ Mind sharing the name and course she applied for?
