Did anyone get rejected?

The beauty of allowing each campus to independently make decisions allows for each to prioritize which factors are important and weight them differently. This results in say SD admitting someone that LA or B might reject and vice versa. The campus decisions are independent of each other. So, of course, SD does not presage LA or B.

Emil, we have the same GPA and ACT and I was rejected as well. I was ELC too.

no... but seriously. i know ppl who didnt even make ucsb and still made ucla
have hope you guys. you never know until the results come out and sometimes, the results can be surprising in a good way :]
good luck everyone!

I got rejected from UCSD and now I'm bummed out and sad. Also I feel like I have no chance at Cal or UCLA because I didn't get into UCSD. My stats aren't high either, I'm just...sad.

GPA: 4.5
SAT: 1530

tennis team, VP piano club, recognition commissioner, club secretary, freshmen leader, 150+community service, golf team...

I got rejected at UCSD with a 30 ACT, 770 USH, 700 Math II. I also have a GPA of 3.91UW/4.47W. This sucks because I thought UCSD was my safety.

Or better question; Do I still have a good chance at UCLA/UCB? :,(

^lol sorry not much~ and UCSD would not be your safety in anyway.

omg... these people have much better stat than i do... i never expected to get in b/c i was OOS as well

What makes me feel bad about my rejection is all of my friends got in and their stats are very similar to mine. The only difference was that all of them got ELC and I didn't (off by like .1%).

Funny thing is now, factoring my Senior GPA, I'm very well qualified for ELC.

got rejected with a 33 act, and i think about a 4.2 uc gpa plus like 760 on m2 and chem. soo yea i was realy surprised. but im in at cal poly, chapman, and usc so i guess not a big loss anyway

but yea you guys give me a lot more hope for ucla and cal so thanks. ucla is like my top choice right now but ucsd like killed my confidence for them :/

My tritonlink page doesn't say anything at all. What does that mean? Did I get rejected, is it not posted yet, or is the website just acting funky (which it has been). =/

A current UCSD student posted on another thread that when the system goes down it doesn't give a "system down" page; it just states odd things: password wrong, etc.

Well it doesnt say system down. It lets me log in, but then it just says crap about updating my address.

ACT Web Services are currently unavailable because of necessary system maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.

AHHHHHH

F my life.

Hey Hanauma, this is the rejection thread :]

I applied to 12 schools (thankfully, people told me that was too many but now I know better), and got rejected from 2/3 I heard back from so far, including UCSD (Rejected UNC-CH, Accepted UIUC)

Stats:
OOS (I suspect this didn't help at all)
33 ACT, Forgot my SAT II scores (but nothing spectacular), 4.9 UW (On my school's 5.0 scale...don't know what my UC GPA was), 100+ hrs community service, really great + unique essays (or atleast I thought....), lots of club involvement

I guess I became too cocky about admissions, especially since some other people who went to UCSD from my town are not the best students, but who knows, I didn't read their application. I strongly believe all of us will end up where we belong, even if it's not where we think we should be. Best of luck to all of you with your others schools.

Found out about my rejection today. I haven't heard from Irvine or SB yet but I'm in at Santa Cruz and Davis--no surprise; they're my safety schools. I thought I had a good chance of getting in at SD. I had some pretty good stats and a great essay centered on my leadership role as dance team captain--the only thing was that my GPA sucked balls. 2090 SAT, 3.48 UW gpa after junior year, 3.71 UW after first semester senior year. Too bad UCs don't ask for mid year reports.

I got rejected! I'm so sad! =[
I only applied to 4 UCs: UCLA, UCB, UCSD, and UCR. Got accepted to UCR. I'm PRAYING I get into UCLA/UCB because I really don't want to go to my safety.

Oh man, I'm kind of shocked that I got rejected from UCSD...

Are any of you guys considering appealing? I don't know if I should...

My dd was class of 2008 and got into UCSD with a 4.2 gpa. She was rejected by UCD and UCSB! She did not go to UCSD; hated the orientation. (She did apply to 15 schools! That's the norm now.) She got into Johns Hopkins ($53K yr.), Boston U.($48K), U of Rochester ($48K), Marist ($44K) and a number of other schools. UCSD Admissions didn't really seem to care about her volunteer hours, sports teams or any of that. The only thing they seemed to care about was her internship in the lab working with Foreign exchange grad students and diabetic mice. Believe me, and I mean this with all sincerity, you'll all go to where you were meant to be; AND you will be extremely HAPPY with your choice! Where did she go? SUNY Buffalo on a full ride for pre-med with free options for Med School. Being from San Diego, she said she made the right choice and is extremely happy there. The courses are a lot harder than any AP classes she could have ever imagined. The weather has not been an issue because of their tunnel systems. SO, please hold out hope. If UCSD rejected you, you may just make UCLA! Don't get discouraged!
