Did anyone get this email?

let’s all write angry letters :P

I got it. and I got accepted, online and the actual package via snail-mail.

This could actually result in a huge legal dispute. Way to freakin’ go SD.

let’s all sue.

lol, so how did you guys react when you first read the email? i was… pretty thrilled.

For those rejected, does the email start with:

We’re thrilled that you’ve been admitted to UC San Diego, and we’re showcasing our beautiful campus on Admit Day.

? If it does, that stinks.

ya! i was so mad. i thought it was a joke and i kept reading and it said congratulations! and i was praying that my rejection was a mistakee

yea, lets all sue haha

Here is the actual letter I received:

Hello (insert rejected student’s name here)!

We’re thrilled that you’ve been admitted to UC San Diego, and we’re showcasing our beautiful campus on Admit Day.

Hope you can join us this Saturday, April 4 to get an introduction to academic programs, get acquainted with your college, and get a glimpse of the powerful combination that can be YOU plus UC San Diego. If you haven’t RSVP’d online yet, take a few seconds to let us know you’re on your way. If you have, you can update your information and either way, we’ll see you here.

You’ll have choices all day long, with all the planned programs as well as time to browse the information tables along Library Walk… and there’s a lot going on for the whole family, too. If you want to indulge your specialized interests, take a break and walk through the School of Medicine campus – it’s across the street. Or take the free campus shuttle a few blocks down the hill to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography campus (right on the beach) and visit the Birch Aquarium. The 31st Annual Cultural Celebration is being held on the Thurgood Marshall College campus — enjoy food, dance, and traditions from around the world… or explore campus-wide traditions at a university that’s 49 years young!

If you can’t be here this weekend but still want to visit, sign up for a campus tour when it matches up with your calendar.

However we get to meet you, we’re looking forward to it… congratulations again on your admission(NOT!)

Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools

Man this happened to me too and I’m kinda ****ed. Not for being rejected, but for wasting 30 minutes of my life trying to log in and figure out my password.

For those of you calling tomorrow, tell us what they say! Maybe they made a mistake on the website, and the emailing list was correct… hahaha you never know.

let’s hope this is GOOD news! ROFL!

I got the same damn thing. I was like O_o no… this can’t be =O hahaha. they DID reject an awful lot of people that i would have thought would have been accepted this year. maybe the rejections were a mistake and this is the real deal, rofl. granted this isn’t my first choice, i’m just amused. come to think of it, i never did even check my portal for UCSD lol! someone post the link please :D

When i tried to log back in, all I got was a “current student” page with the class schedule, so I couldn’t see my rejection notice. So confusedd!!! Did anyone else have the same problem?

They just sent me an apology email:

Dear Debra,

Within the last two hours, you received an email addressed to students who had been admitted to UC San Diego.

As you have quickly realized, this communication was sent to you in error.

On behalf of the Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools, we deeply regret this mistake, because we understand the level of distress it has caused for many of you. In all humility, I ask that you please accept my apologies and those of the University of California, San Diego… and know that we continue to wish you success in your educational pursuits.

Too little too late SD… I wasted so much time trying to log back into your dang site. EFF THIS

Wow I can’t believe this did this crap. -_- UCSD had me all excited for a moment…then nope, it was an ERROR. Seriously, ***?

did anyone get emailed by the LA Times ?

lol so the final word is it was an error. LOL! well here’s a big middle finger to UCSD! hopefully someone decides to sue for emotional distress! i will love nothing more than for this too happen to this wretch of a school. BURN UCSD, BURN!! lol

/rant

j/k i could careless. first choice here i come :D

just got the sorry email

im going to reply back with the middle finger

Even though it was an error, at least they responded quickly and apologized. :/

I love how she says “quickly realized”, as if we knew we were already rejects and not worthy of getting into their school.

and you know what, I DON’T accept your lame apology UCSD-- go suck a fat one.

imagine wut CHAOS it would have caused if they made this mistake when they really send out decisions
