So I'm a current freshman at Wash U in St. Louis (I LOVE it here btw, message me if you have any questions) and my mom texted me today saying that Columbia Engineering (who's rejected me, no hard feelings, I didn't wanna be an engineer lol) had sent me some letter on financial aid. Now I know that 2013ers probably wouldn't be on this thread but did all of you 2014 people get this letter? It was standard and not really personal and it apparently had bullet points. So posters, let me know if you got this letter and best of luck in your quest for admission!!

very perplexed here, i think by your lack of shock that you knew it was a mistake you received this letter. columbia more than likely didn’t have your graduation date correctly inputted.

anyhow the real question - why would you apply to an engineering school if you didn’t want to be an engineer or were at all curious about how an engineering education would help you in the long run.

and please tell me your intended purpose of saying “I LOVE it here btw, message me if you have any questions.” I am glad you do, but kids who frequent the CU forum also frequent other schools, I just think it comes across as pretty much the reason you posted here in the first place. It really is such a nonsequitur of a post that comes across as less than genuine.

Awesome flame.

yeah i got the same letter.
i’m a little bit confused, and it’s a bit random that they’d be sending that months after they declined all the waitlisted applicants.

Just called the fin aid office this morning.
Was told that it was a major screw up. They got the list for the prospies and past applicants mixed up.
So about the letter----don’t sweat it.

We received a follow up letter acknowledging the screw up.
