Got The Brown Envelope With The Blue Binder!
See You All July 2nd

Does your letter say I-Day is July 2nd or June 27th? Mine said June 27th, the Academic calendar on the website says June 27th, and the Admissions calendar says July 2nd.

ours said july2

Well, no hug for the mailman but D just got the mail and the binder was there. The certificate is really nice. It says, "you will be sworn in on July 2"...and that "further info will be coming as to what day to report." She now has a very tough decision.

I-Day's on July 2? That's very old school...my son's I-Day was at the end of the June but both my brother (USNA 87) and husband (USNA 82) were around the 2nd or 3rd of July,,,

Congratulations to the class of 2012

just got the appointment, and the letter says July 2 like the rest. i would assume that july 2 is the right day because it is a wednesday.

hmm...my appointment letter says the class of 2012 will be sworn in on june 27

Mike...

Congrats to your son. The fun now begins.

Glad to see that your letter today confirmed what the we are hearing from the NAPSters yesterday that the date has changed to July 2. It is our understanding that the calendar will be updated soon. I think this was a recent change so earlier letter may have actually contained the previous date.

This is one of those cases where Semper Gumby applies.

to those who received their letters today, does your dodmerb page indicate a status change of 7-JAN or is it earlier?

7 january
US MAIL can be slow

Out of curiosity, azhockey, are you going to accept the appointment to Annapolis or go the right way and accept USAFA? ;)

The envelope just arrived!! Letter indicated that swearing in day is July 2nd -- I've already made a new hotel reservation.

i got mine in december and it said June 27th. that's a little annoying. i had a count down going to the 27th. why didn't they just move it to the 25th? oh well.

yea, they changed it recently. I know some club leaders were notified.

Congrats to all. THIS is one of the more exciting days you'll ever experience. Treasure, remember, celebrate, give thanks to the Almighty Admissions Director.

I received the acceptance package today. I was more like a sprint to the mailbox for me. Also, what is exactly in the "Permit to Report " packet?

My son's letter (rec'd in December) said June 27th too and, wouldn't you know, I just made hotel reservation for then yesterday. Oh well, just made some new reservations for July 2!

Most important item in Permit to Report package is parent's Mid-Store card. LOL

Permit to Report Packet = Minor Mt. McKinley of paper work

Get ready, 'cause the train's a comin'. ;) Seriously, bunch of stuff re: shots needed, checking accounts, payment of the basic $2,500; who gets your grades, what color uniform and style you prefer, menu pref, etc. Official report time on 02 July 2008. No, the mid store card must be picked up there. Parents do get a 2 day pass, I believe.

Sorry. I meant the paper temporary ones. We got the real ones on PPW.

Wait...what do you mean by them asking "what color uniform and style you prefer" and "menu pref"? I didn't know you had any choice in the uniform department...
