nydad, SUNYs are great deals. They provide an education at a great price for instate and out of state students.
@NYdad2014 my daughter applied to A LOT of schools and got into A LOT of private well know universities. All gave her money but not enough to make it affordable for us. We made too much money for any other aide. We thought about letting her take out the loans for over 00K but in the end she decided to go with Oneonta. She got the top scholars award and received full tuition for 4 years. She also got the same award from Oswego, but after visiting Oneonta she is happy with her choice. I am sure she will have a great time just like you daughter. Lostaccount does seem to only want private schools. I honestly cannot see how families can save the amount needed for a 4 year private education…At least not living in New York.
Not true goodmom. I think SUNY provides a good deal to NYers and especially for OOS students. I dislike Binghamton’s lack of transparency. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what it is. I dislike their suggesting it is “elite” or the best SUNY or similar to places like Michigan. There are many positive things about each SUNY. Instead of marketing it by highlighting things that are simply false, they should identify the postiives of the schools and highlight those.
