Did anyone receive an "unoffical" financial aid letter?

I think you should definitely call or meet up with them at admit day. My cousin called and explained her situation, and her school basically covers all her tuition except for $7k, which her mom pays in payments throughout the year.

That gives me hope!! Thanks for the responses guys…I call them as soon as I can the coming week

14.8k grants
16k loans.
I don’t see work study.

total cost from 30k -> 15k
yes! half the priceee.

No luck. They said they can’t take my cal grant either.

$26k in loans. Thanks but no thanks UCSB…I can’t do that to my family.

awwwww, that sucks. Hopefully we’ll see you in two years!

When I log into the UCSB page and enter the section for my FAFSA, there is nothing shown. Does this mean I didn’t receive anything?

On the sidebar it should be under Financial Aid Office titles Unofficial Award Letter.
When you click that it goes to a page that says

"New Applicant

Your initial 2011-2012 FAFSA was received by the federal processor on 1/21/2011.

I did but there is still nothing there. An hour ago the site read that it was undergoing changes and would be done in fifteen minutes, but now I am back to nothing listed under my the FAFSA status.

mine also doesnt have anything listed. Maybe because I havent filled out the residency page? This is going to sounds weird but would someone be willing to copy and paste the residency questions in a message to me? I moved here 3 years ago in may so i’m waiting til then to fill it out. I have instate and I got it at the state schools but kinda anxious to see if I can get it at the UC’s.

I got about 20.5k in grants, some in work study, and rest in loans.

Thats pretty much what I got

14.5k UC grant, 4.5k pell, 1.5k new freshman scholarship + work study and the rest loans

Would love to attend and is my #1 choice, but OOS just ruins it :(

Wouldn’t be worth ruining my life over 4 years

Did you all get an email saying your unofficial financial aid letter was up? What exactly was the subject of this email? -just so I know whether I have not received aid, or just not yet received aid. =P

Mine doesn’t have my aid on there either it says they received my FAFSA on 1/30/11 buuut i don’t see any link leading me to the aid.

glitch?

I see the same thing as bookworm and I’m a transfer. I submitted my sir too. No award up for me yet!

Transfers do not start getting rewards until the end of this week or the beginning of the next. I contacted UCSB and this is what they told me.

Great! Thanks for the info.

How about Freshman Admissions? I still don’t have an award, nor did I get an email saying my “financial award letter” was up.

Call and ask.
