^ Indeed.

And to top it all off, it was also used as the 2009 December US SAT.

A single SAT being re-used 3 times? Weird…

Imagine if you were an international test taker on the 28th but moved to America, and were Jewish, and took the Sunday test today? That’d be awesome lol

LOL! It sure would be.

^except for the fact that you didn’t plan to study it… It’d psych me out :/

Is this a common trend? Does TCB commonly do this?

Guys, on the Dade passage, the last question asked for the main purpose of the passage.

The 2 possible answers really were 1) dade’s search for limited fame and 2) dade’s relationship with the world

Apparently “relationship with the world” is definitely correct. Why? I was extremely sure when I chose search for limited fame… but now I kinda see why it isn’t. But how in the world is it his relationship with the world?

I also grappled with this issue as I contemplated the larger implications of the reading. However, I ultimately chose “relationship with the larger world” because it exhibits the son’s perspective throughout the story.

Ahh…

Also, there was a vocab question about the long life of some sort of sea animal (can’t remember which one)

Was the correct answer the one that had “longevity…legendary” in it?
I didn’t choose that bc I’ve always thought longevity was another word for length. Meh. Also, legendary seemed way off…

After going through the December 2009 thread and the January 2012 thread, I realized the math was really easy. I definitely scored way higher than I ever had in it… and I’m not even good at math or anything, I was just plugging stuff in and writing everything out.

Like for question #8 on the fill-in section, it asked if you could divide 2,3, and 9 into p+3 or something… you could’ve done that algebraically… or you could’ve just plugged numbers in and finished the question in 15 seconds hehe

Yes - I chose legendary. I believe the sentence said: “The LONGEVITY of the animal was LEGENDARY.”

b = 10;
y = [10/a]x + 10;
The expression in the must equal 3 because the slope is 3;
10 * a^-1 = 3;
a^-1 = 3/10
a = 10/3;

Oh my god. I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo stupid.

I didn’t even realize that the variable “b” in “b/a” was referring to the y intercept. I mean, I knew that in y = mx + b that b is the y intercept, but I never made the connection that it was also the b in “b/a”. wow, waste of points :’(

Sorry for double post.

This might be a long shot, but the last question on section 10 asked Bill’s job or whatever.

What did you guys put for that? I chose D, which made Bill the subject of the sentence. But my friend is saying that there was another option (not choice E, which had awkward phrasing) that was also correct. So, what did you guys get?
