i have a question. i know it may sound dumb because i didn't do enough research on this program but basically the acceptance letter just states that we have been accepted into the program of like hotel, which is a major in the school of continuing education. so basically that is our major for the next four years.?

Well HOTEL AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT is contained within Tisch Center, which only has one other B.S major, SPORTS MANAGEMENT AND LEISURE STUDIES. I would venture an educated guess that if you wanted to switch to something not offered at the Center, It would require that you apply to another school within NYU...so you would have to fill out another app for the new school and be re-evaluated through admissions, most likely using a different set of acceptance criteria. Depending on what school your new desired major is located in, it may be tougher to get in than Tisch Center.
