<p>I'm a bit fuzzy on the concensus regarding resumes. From what I gleaned so far, it's most likely overkill, and an short concise additional explanation of certain activities will suffice. Another thing that makes me think this is that the common app reduced the activities to 10 spots this year as opposed to 12. </p>

<p>My son did include a resume and got in. I don’t think it’s a make or break either way. The nice thing about the resume is that it allows you to present your achievements/activities in your own context.</p>
<p>Note – his resume was not a laundry list of every single activity he’s ever done - it focused on more significant activities/achievements, but in a format that gave them more context than just a list.</p>
<p>I got into Princeton and did exactly the same thing as princeton13mom’s son–a focused resume.</p>
