get rejected?

D knows students rejected and deferred. A very good friend and neighbor who has a sib there now and a parent legacy was deferred for scores and strength of schedule. EC's seem good. Her parents were ****ed, and at the GC's office the next day trying to get advice on what to do now. She has since taken the ACT and SAT again.

I don't thing that alot of people post about rejections here, they just move on.

fsu reportedly received nearly 12,000 applications for the first deadline (october10).

the max class size for the incoming class is around 6,500. even if they filled 3/4 of their class in the first round (which I doubt), that would have meant (sadly for those receiving them) many rejections

FSU admissions stated to me they typically receive about 30,000 apps for Fall semester. They usually accept around 46% of those students and will yield about 43% as freshmen students at FSU for the fall. This is a very high yield rate. Nationwide, most colleges only yield about 1/3 of the accepted applicants. But this year there is a higher number of students applying due to the small baby boom our country experienced in 1990 (largest pool of students in about 20 years).

I didn't know there were separate Rejected/Deferred status'. I know about 4 people that got deferred, but none that got rejected. I suppose that the rejected status is if you don't meet their requirements for admissions (minimum SAT, required courses, etc...), because you could always apply for the Feburary deadline if you were deferred. I'm glad that they have this EA deadline, it is a big stress reliever to know that I got in somewhere.

alot of those who were deferred end up getting an offer to attend during summer term which i find a very good option.

do you think the deferred students will know by feb 20 or april 2?

I think I'm going to get rejected. Gut feeling.

Just found out my son is IN!! I logged into the housing application and it said he was accepted. The status check page still has the Feb 20 date on it with no change. They have updated it since 2:00 this afternoon.

Good luck to those waiting!

rjpm - congrats to your son!!!

Yeah, I think I got rejected as well.
