Did Brown schedule an interview with you yet?

replying to theantithesisof :

hi haha :) I had my brown interview a few weeks ago and we had it at starbucks, too. I wore a green sweater with black formal pants and heels. Really try to stay away from jeans.. I think formal pants in black, brown, etc. are fine. Good luck! My interviewer was so awesome.. she was so down-to-earth but I could feel her intelligence just beaming. haha it was great.

Oh and my interview was exactly an hour!

I'm not disceiving you when I say this: I was 30 minutes late, and I came in jeans and an AE shirt.

My interview lasted hour plus some.

Did the interviewers know a lot about your application, like essays and such?

Nope, just that I was applying ED.

Do they usually set up the interview for like a few days following, because I won't be around for the last week of November and I still haven't been contacted even though I applied ed in early October...I'm a bit worried :/

did anyone bring anything to the interview? my GC suggested bringing a copy of my activity sheet...

My interview is in two hours! And I'm scared to death. ):

I second the question about bringing things (resume, etc.) to the interview. Any opinions on that?

my interview was amazing.

my best advice:

no preparation. speak from your heart.

i knew that if i prepped, i'd get nervous. its so much easier to speak according to natural flow.

i had my interview at starbucks w/ alum. no resume needed.

Yeah, my interview was fabulous. I got there and I was soo nervous, and had tons of stuff (Brown info, transcript, brag sheet, etc.) with me, but we talked for two hours. My interviewer was totally chill.

But he looked me up on MySpace. And I'm really glad I didn't have anything too bad on there.

Hey this interview is so monstrously scary !! What did you talk about?
Intl students: Was the interview in your mother language or in english? I got an e-mail from a bulgarian Brown alumni and it was written in bulgarian.

Did your interviewers know anything about you? Mine e-mailed me today and she knew what school I attended and also some of the activities that I am most interested in.

My interviewer showed me the sheet he got: it had the basic info that you fill in for part I of the app: intended major, sports you might want to do in college, and activities you might want to do in college.

They're not told your SAT, GPA, rank, etc....and they don't care.
I just had my interview this last week

Qs:
~Why Brown?
~Why Intended major?
~What is your biggest/favorite EC? Why?
~Why do you want to do the activities that you listed in college?
~Do you have any questions for me? (have some!!!)

I'm pretty ticked because I hadn't been contacted about my interview yet and I talked to Brown Admissions just to see what was going on, and all they said was that an alumni will probably contact me, but that an interview isn't necessarily required so I shouldn't be too upset if I don't get one. It's annoying because I really want one, but if they really don't schedule one for me then what am I supposed to do? Nothing I guess...

Got contacted by e-mail today.

I emailed the admissions office, asking about the interview, and the next day(coincidentally or not, i'm not sure), my interviewer emailed me.

i did not prepare or bring anything (he said not to). i think they are trained to say "this is not meant to be intimidating" ; )

the interview was pleasant. we joked around a lot and talked about a variety of things - the conversation just took its own toll.

don't worry too much. just know why you want to go to brown and what you like to do and study.

and wear clothes.

Just got a call! Tuesday!

and wear clothes.

OOPS I FORGOT TO! Does this hurt my chances of admission? :D
