<p>okay so ive read alot of posts about fin aid and apparently cmu is not very generous (according to the people on this board)</p>
<p>well my efc was about 16000</p>
<p>4 people with a salary of alittle over 80000 a year</p>
<p>and i got 17000 in grants and about 25000 total, but yeah the 17000 is all that really counts</p>
<p>is that considered alot for cmu?</p>

<p>seems slightly more generous than mine / others that have been posted, not unreasonable though</p>
<p>Considering even that after the re-assesment there is like 4K unaccounted for between the efc that we can't pay and the aid package they provided, mine may be low.</p>
<p>EFC = Expected Financial Contribution</p>
<p>My EFC was 24000 and I got 15300 in grants, 2500 in work study and 2500 in loans. I think they give more money to people they want more, and my guess is that being a girl helps.</p>
