did Cornell send you..

I am an applicant to the Cornell College of Engineering (transfer). I was looking in my mailbox today and saw that Cornell sent me a "Courses of Study" book (2005-2006). Did anyone get this?
It got me really excited the first few moments before I actually processed what it actually was- all I saw was a fat red thing that had Cornell written on it. It seems kinda weird why they would send something like this, right? I mean, what's the point in looking at what courses are offered if decisions aren't out yet?

haha I got that too! I guess they want to show you what they have to keep you interested. All what I mainly thought was "Wow a lot of money for postage."

I got it too, it's cool.

Yeah, I got one too. They must've sent it when they recieved the pre-app.

i think they're just sending them all out because they have an ass load left over and "hey, i know what we can do with these" since they're no longer of use to current students. There's boxes and boxes of them in the ilr student lounge. It's nice to see they're not just being thrown out.

nosx: yeah it must've been really expensive to send those off. but yeah, Cornell doesn't need to send me anything to keep me interested! hehe

gomestar: what you said i guess makes sense. it's kinda annoying though cause what if you don't get in? like, what's the point in browsing through the courses now, getting all excited, then getting rejected? honestly, i haven't looked through it for that reason. but it's motivating just looking at it from the exterior hehe

it's not just courses, it contains loads of information on graduation requirements, required courses, possible electives, how to graduate with honors, a bunch of stuff that is useful.

I see... but aren't those things one would want to look more into after they get accepted? I mean other than required courses, which presumably we should have looked at before applying, the rest kinda seems to be tickeling my feet with feathers. I think it's just the way I view the transfer process that's different?
