Did everyone escape the flu?

I am hoping since no one has posted about being ill, that most have managed to avoid the terrible flu season, or at least recovered in time for Unifieds. Congratulations on dodging that bullet! Good luck in Chicago and Los Angeles

Yes, but we did lots of preventative measures: flu shot, washing hands, plenty of rest, sanitizing wipes, airborne, and masks at airport…so far, so good!

Sometimes moms are smart! The airport is deadly

My daughter and her friends even wore masks to class to avoid getting sick before UPTAs . . . they said their department was rife with the flu! They managed to say healthy for this first round of auditions . . . fingers crossed for the rest of the season!

It’s probably too early to tell. Kids in my high school are dropping like flies. Not ALL are the flu-- we also have mono, strep and bronchitis in the mix to make it interesting.

Two more weeks and we have a week off for President’s Week. That week off will enable everyone to get well, and stop the spread of all the awful stuff going around. Just 10 more days of classes…

My S did NOT dodge the bullet. Has been on Tamiflu, abx and steroids. Recently added in Elderberry, and he’s now making a great recovery. He has mask in hand for airport and plane ride to CHI! FWIW - he’d had the vaccine, doubled-down on vitamins and probiotics and was drinking water by the gallon.

@beachymom kids have a tendency to rise to the occasion when the adrenaline kicks in. Just need to R&R in between and at night. Hope all goes well.

I hope they rally. Are the colleges allowing you guys to reschedule your auditions at another time?

@Notmath1 I know that some colleges, in the past, have been good about rescheduling in such situations so it might depend on the school. Kids with the flu should be at home and definitely not at Unifieds, which is the perfect type of opportunity for germs to spread easily.

Yes so true, @alwaysamom ! Amen to that. As far as the audition rescheduling I think those who did early auditions in the Fall before flu season got into full swing are really glad they did.
