Did everyone get the USEM or USEM+w that they wanted?

I did and I’m very happy and excited. Studying evil and human destiny. Anyone else?

Also when can we start signing up for regular classes?

And is there a easy to use site to find class schedules?

I put down evil and human destiny as my number two choice, and the seminar I got into was my fourth or fifth choice, which I'm now wishing I hadn't put on the list at all. I'm pretty upset with the results; this all feels too impersonal, too bureaucratic somehow. I feel completely lost in the sauce, and am kind of wondering if this whole experience wouldn't have been better at a smaller school. I hesitated in picking Brandeis because it was a bit larger than most of the other schools I looked at, but I was tempted by the money and everyone else thought I was crazy to think Brandeis was too big. I'm probably just really bitter right now, because I've been anxiously waiting to find out which seminar I was put into, and now I'm sorely disappointed with the results. But this is really not the way I wanted to start things off.

note that this is coming from someone who is actually transferring FROM brandeis...

don't put too much into the fact that you didn't get into the seminar you wanted. i knew many people who HATED their first-choice seminar (hopefully they will be better this year, but last year, USEMs, UWSs, and USEM+Ws were basically just burdens for most). however, i did know a couple who really liked theirs, even though they had just picked them randomly. all in all, the quality of a seminar usually depends on the professor, not on the description of the seminar itself. the descriptions can be misleading, sometimes... and, really, it just all depends on what the professor does with it and the direction he/she takes the class in. who knows - maybe the seminar you got stuck in will be light-years better than your favorite, it's really impossible to determine now! above all - don't let this cloud your opinion of brandeis, you haven't even gotten there yet.

...and i don't think you're crazy for thinking brandeis is too big. that's one of my (many) reasons for leaving - i wanted a smaller school. and, like you, most thought that i was strange for thinking brandeis was too big. one of the most common complaints is that it is too small.

good luck!

My D got a USEM that was one of her top choices but no UWS so far--did this happen to any of you? Her USEM is for second semester.

I got Development of Play, Art, and Creativity which was my first choice.

Pyewacket... are you sure your D's class isn't a USEM+w?

We're away on vacation and my son is somewhere else. How did you all find out about your seminar choices. Email?

Not by email. It's on sage, under view my class schedule. If you know the Brandeis username and password you can check it out.
