After I finished the CSS profile I was of course given a message about which of the colleges I filed the CSS for had IDOC requirements, however there were some that had message codes like A, I, J, C(just putting letters) that said such and such college wanted my parent's income tax returns and W2 forms. However, I called these colleges, Tulane and Ithaca, and they said not to send it until you're enrolled and have committed to the school. Ithaca said they'd contact me when that info was required. So if this is their policy why would they be shown as wanting these forms after students submit the CSS profile????? Is this collegeboard's fault, or a fluke on the school's part? So many kids who didn't call their colleges probably submitted their parent's important tax info when the colleges didn't want it... Is there anyone else who got these message codes after they completed the CSS profile and can tell me whether they did or did not send this information????

Anyone????

Generally, don't submit the tax forms to a college until they ask for them.
