apparently someone from admissions called and asked how i was doing in school. hmm...i know this doesnt mean much knowing that there were like 29,000 applicants but at least im not a TOTAL reject?? lol im wondering if anyone's heard of such calls/received them. thx

I remember Northstarmom saying something like admissions will call your counselor if they’re interested in an applicant and want more information…but don’t get your hopes up too high, I mean, chances are slim no matter what. I hope it’s good news for you though, Good luck!

yea haha i really don’t expect anything out of harvard admissions.
i mean, “interested” never got anyone an acceptance letter. hopefully they’re not calling TOO many ppl :)

I would also think that if you were clearly or probably in at this point, they probably wouldn’t be calling your GC to reaffirm that you have good grades. You’re probably on the fence, or slightly to the side of admission–which is certainly a good place to be in right now. You’ve made it far!

Unless you thought you were definitely in, this is good news- at least they’re clearly taking an interest in your app (unlike mine, which they will summarily discard upon seeing my 680 in math)

I read somewhere that if your admissions officer calls your counselor, they are very interested in you…

Given the time of year…do you think they would call if they weren’t interested?

Doesn’t mean you’ll get in…but…they’re at least giving your application a closer look. If you were a candidate on the reject pile, they wouldn’t take the time to call…
