Did I blow it???

My final grades have been released for sophomore year and there are unfortunately more Bs than I was expecting. I now have a cumulative 4.0 GPA weighted on a 4.5 scale. This isn't awful considering I took all honors classes and 1 AP, yet I still feel a bit like a failure.
Junior year I am taking 4 AP classes and 2 honors- even if I miraculously manage to get an A average in all of the above, have I completely blown my chances of going to Columbia/Brown/Cornell?

Thats a good GPA, and you should be happy with yourself.

Sometimes I wonder about some of the people on this board!

get out you little retard...stop ****tting your pants and live life. stop thinking about college your only a softmore

No, you haven't completely blown your chances. dpc1192, I agree, people on this board are crazy. (Ps, I'm hoping those aren't the ONLY schools you are applying to.)

Keep in mind that there are other factors than GPA, such as rank/SAT/letter of recs/etc. Plus, you're a soph. So lighten up a little.

Wow, pocketref, why is it bad that Marlowe is thinking ahead?

I think it's good that you're concerned about college already. That's still a strong GPA, and decent SAT/ACT scores, ECs, etc. can make up for whatever was lost. :)

jeez lighten up! how is a 4.0 BAD???
besides, colleges tend to look at your junior year grades more than your sophomore year grades...but even so, when they see your sophomore grades, they won't be like, "oh, this student really went down." a 4.0 is a GOOD gpa.
so seriously, lighten up and stop making all of us feel inferior =)
i agree with the person who said they wonder about people on this board...

To be honest, top schools do care about Bs and Cs. What matters most however is class rank. If you go to a school with 15 vals with perfect GPAs a couple of Bs really hurts. If you go to a school where there's one perfect GPA every decade Bs won't kill you.
