Essay

*I will write about a Table. How the table is important to me: In Africa my family and I were in a war and so we hide underneath the table from the bombs. Now, since I am in the USA for many years, don’t know exact number... but anyways, now my parents uses it to talk about bills and how will survive for next day. *

So the essay will be a contrast of the use of a table in two different countries and two different situations.

your GPA is definitely a little low, but URM status might make up for that, however, JHU places a lot of weight on grades, especially senior grades too. Your EC’s are good and i like the idea of your essay.

are you a current applicant or are you applying next year?

I like the ‘table’ story. Good luck to you. If you are good in tracks, get in touch with their track and sprint coach (Mr Bobby Van Allen) and see if they are willing to push your app. There is not much time, so do it quickly.

applying next year transfer

I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that a larger issue may be that you consider 49/114 to be “top 25% in class.” (=43%)

:p

Your In. trust me. the essay is stupendous and no offence, but your a black girl:D so you’ll definitely be accepted. good Luck

^^It doesn’t exactly work like that, although I’d still say the OP’s chances aren’t bad.

I think you’re fine—URM, SATs are good, and while the GPA is a bit low, Hopkins will look at you holistically so that’s only one weaker facet of your application.

markus—ahhahaha. I second that. Although, maybe she just made a typo…?
