My freshman and sophmore year of high school (I'm a junior now) I acted like a complete idiot. I did absoultly no extra curriculars unless you count band. Because of my stupidness I have been left with a 2.8 gpa. However, now I am completely opposite. I have been trying to get into as many clubs as I can and get involved. I now have straight A's and am trying to take as many credits as I can get. I also plan on taking AP classes next year. Did I completely screw myself over for getting into a 4 yr university? Lets say I do really good on my SAT and ACT. What are my chances into getting into..I don't know..University of Florida?

holy crap…i cannot believe there is someone out there JUST like me…

thats my thread…go and read what hmom5 wrote for me…might help…
good luck dude

I’m not familiar with Florida public schools, but probably more than half of the private colleges in the US will accept anyone who can afford to write the check.

Considering ur working hard now and now u have a steep upward trend u might have a fair shot at UF if u keep getting straight A’s. Plus study hard for the SAT and the ACT

I’m not postitive about this… but I don’t think money will be an issue. My parents are pretty wealthy…not to brag…

yea same here man im so ****ed right now i have 3.2 gpa unweighted and a 3.3 weighted and im gettin rly frustrated but at least i did wrestling in 9th grade but this year im going to bring my gpa up to a 3.4unweighted and a 3.5 weighted and im doing tons of clubs and sports and volunteer work…hopefully i can get into a decent suny school i wish i can go back in time and work harder

I’m just happy to know I’m not the only one who made these kind of stupid mistakes haha

You will have many 4 year colleges to choose from. Get a Fiske or another guide and just start looking for schools where your stats fit. As long as we’re not talking about top colleges, an upward trend is very helpful.

If you convey this in your application, I believe you will get into UF. It’s a great school, and it gives its applicants chances.

hmom5 - it depresses me how accurate your post is :-(
