Did I do the right thing?

Okay, my bad. Guess I’m just worked up after the last few days, sorry for the tirade.

Compsci: you continue to impress me with your maturity… Props man

Oh awesome  If we’re playing the “Name who’s most mature by quality of post game,” then I nominate ChristianWu since his posts are backed by qualifiers, which make for solid assertions without sounding condescending.

So “props man!”

(and I’m serious when I say you make good posts)

mapthesoul - epik high?

With everything said, opinions will differ and some are more emotional and more intense than others. Whatever your endeavors are, rank and prestige should be a little factor in affecting your performance. Just keep in mind that you education is controlled by you, if you do not find this university “fit” for you, there are alternatives, the switch program with another university for a few months, transferring, etc…

UCSD has it’s pros and cons, but so does every other universities, the degree of cons and pros vary.

Whether your a triton or not, don’t let trivial things distract you or anyone from education!

Go tritons!

Yes!
Last year I was in the exact same position as you. I had my doubts about passing over a certain older UC school up north…but hearing about all the competition and the higher price tag (for me) made me very uneasy. I’m really happy about where I am now, and can’t wait to go back to La Jolla!
Hope that helps with the whole ‘reassurance from random strangers’ thing!

i really needed to read this thread. ive been struggling with this all summer and maybe a little before senior year ended.
thanks. we’ll see where this upcoming week takes us yeah?

look you’ll meet a few negative nancies at UCSD that complain about how they hate it there but I’ve personally noticed that they never put in the effort to make friends and join student organizations.

DON’T BE LIKE THEM. I can only encourage you to hit the ground running and to really do your best to settle into college life.

^YES, cosign completely!

You guys get SO excited you only have a few more days! Welcome week is amazing! Go out to every event and get free food everywhere and meet tons of people!
